V/R: ADPO, United Purpose donate 1500 school bags to some students

The Afram Plains Development Organization (APDO) in collaboration with United Purpose, a Non – Governmental organization, have donated One thousand five hundred (1,500) School bags to students in some selected schools in Krachi east and Krachi Nchumuru all in Volta Region.

These schools includes, Chambah Akura D/A, Nandi junction D/A, Nande Kurom D/A, Ayigbe Laura D/A and Kaliako D/A all of which are primarily schools.

APDO has been in existence in the country for many years now and have been helping communities in the Eastern, Volta and Northern region by providing social amenities, community development and donations in various forms by the help of the Country Director, Mr. Awudu Yakubu Modoc.

According to the Director of United Purpose Madam Juliet Lampor, in other to support quality education in the deprived communities they have formed club in the schools known as (Youth for Change) with the aim of “Breaking poverty chain in Ghana”, she therefore, advised parents to encourage their children to go school rather sending them to farms during school hours.

The head teacher of Chambah Akura D/A primary school Alexander Gidisu expressed his profound gratitude to the organizations, ‘I believe the school bags given to them will help them a lot because most of them don’t have it and we the teachers find this situation very worrying since they can’t keep their notes for long periods especially during raining season, the books easily becomes damaged. Now, the books can be well protected’. He said.

Mr Gidisu therefore, gave an assurance that, they will also do their best to raise the children up to become better leaders in future.
