Unemployed Degree Allied Health Professionals Issues 14 Day Ultimatum to MOH

The unemployed degree allied health professionals have given 14 days ultimatum to the government to meet their request.

The leadership of the National Health Students Association of Ghana

(NAHSAG) and the Coalition of Degree Allied Health Professionals (CODAHP) have indicated that they will continue to engage the Ministry of Health and all relevant stakeholders as they await the Allied Health Professions Council, AHPC, to furnish the Ministry of Health with details of all qualified and registered professionals to enable the Ministry to verify a list of unemployed graduates submitted to them.

In a statement, the executives said the current state of unemployment of over 850 qualified and licensed Degree Allied Health professionals is worrying.

The association revealed that a 14-day ultimatum was issued for the Ministry of Health to commence transparent and expedited financial clearance processes for its members at a Press Conference held on the 13th Febrary, 2018, where top officials of the Ministry assured leadership and mother associations of their commitment to resolve our issues.

The AHPC noted that in the interim, its leadership has commenced the compilation and will maintain a cordial relationship with the stakeholders to ensure a steady progress.

They revealed that Preparations are going on to kick-start their intended demonstrations should there be any deliberate delays from the ministry or its agencies.
