It will be shameful on our part as a party after leaving office barely a year ago to be financially crippled to the extent that we had to solely depend on the former President to finance party activities as claimed by Kofi Adams.
Kofi Adams the National Organizer on 21st January 2018 was reported to have said some Presidential aspirants were approached to contribute
He mentioned Comrade Sly, Comrade Bagbin and others and painted a clear picture that it was only JM who has contributed to the reorganization including the branch registration. Thanks to the former President and others.
I believe the story because he is my National Organizer and he was very emphatic and asked the journalist to find out from the aspirants whose names were mentioned.
It is very disheartening to know that few months after the unprecedented defeat, the news was circulated that the party national executives met the former appointees for their contribution in monetary terms in running the party which the report said they refused.
If all these are true then something is really wrong somewhere.
Because some of us can’t just “think far” on why a party that was in government for eight years could be broke just a twelve months after losing power.
Does it mean no investment was made?
Does it mean no fund was set aside to run the party after been in power for eight years?
If my party can be broke in just twelve months after been in government for eight years and none of the big men is ready to contribute to financing it’s activities then we have a long way to go in opposition especially these three years ahead of us
Maybe people want to protect what they have left in their account till we come back in 2020 or better still they want the earlier one they gave to be accounted for before another contribution made.
If indeed we are in financial crises as a party then we have lots of unanswered questions.
