The ECG vrs Krobo Citizens Saga: Things Are Turning Bloody

Today, Somanya turned bloody few minutes after the Ghana Police Service, Somanya Command, has arrested Mr. Jonas Tetteh (a.k.a Dendenden), an Assembly Member for the Sawer Electoral Area.
The police accused Mr. Tetteh of being the ”Gang leader” who instigated the youth to embark on the militant ‘Uprising” against the Electricity Company of Ghana in Somanya last Friday.
According to reports, Mr Jonas Tetteh (Dendenden) has been whisked away to Koforidua, the Eastern Regional Capital by the state security.
In solidarity of his arrest, the youth have poured onto the streets of Somanya to protest against his arrest and demand for his immediate release.
Thousands of youth have massed up at the Somanya police station, the streets, and ECG Office in a militancy mood in
Dendenden’s solidarity as they burnt tyres, woods and anything in sight.
The police were seen firing tear gas to dispel the youth and giving several warning shots as drove on the streets on top speed.
One gentlemen from Salosi, a surburb of Somanya has sustained severe injure from gun shot and rushed to the hospital.
Somanya residents along the main road and or have shops fled for their lives.
Noise of gunshots can be heard everywhere. Somanya has now turned into a Banana Republic. There is Lawlessness in Krobo at the moment. There is lack of order and control now. This is very worrying.
Where I am standing to file this report is not even safe either. The sound of gunshots all over is  sending shivers down my spines.
Kloma Hengme, the Krobo advocacy and Heritage Association, is making a passionate appeal to the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo, to as a matter of urgency, intervene in the issue to forestall security, law and and order in Krobo.
The president must also set up a committee of enquiry to look into the claims by the residents of Krobo concerning the alleged Fraudulent documentation of the ECG billing system and the Manipulation of meter boards by the ECG. This is to bring a lasting solution to the recent disturbances and anarchy that has been going on in Krobo for sometime now. The president must act now!!!!!
Stay tuned.
More soon…
