Dr Bawumia arrives from medical leave

The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia who was on medical leave in London, UK has arrived today with a rousing welcome.

He was on Friday, 19th January 2018, flown to the United Kingdom for medical attention.

It is said that after series of tests by his doctors a day after when he was rushed to the hospital, he was referred to specialists in the United Kingdom for further observation.

A statement from the Office of the Chief of staff has stated that “The Vice President of the Republic, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, on Friday, 19th Janaury, 2018, left Ghana for the United Kingdom for Medical leave, on the advice of his doctors.”

He was accompanied by the 2nd Lady, Hajia Samira Bawumia” – the statement added

Following the statement from the presidency, there were several calls on the government to make public a full disclosure of the health status of the second man of the land.

The calls followed by speculations that he surfaced stroke with other saying he was poisoned. The NPP bankroller, Kenedy Agypong was reported to have said that he was told the Vice President collapsed while at work at the Flagstaff House and flown out of the country for medical attention.

These speculations were followed by a release of photo and video of the Vice President and his wife walking on the streets of London but that did not convince Ghanaians with many saying the picture could be an old one.

Then a statement followed days after saying the Vice President will return home today February 1, 2018.

Well, this brings to closure all the speculations on the man.
