MMDAs urged to adopt sports programmes

Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Pius Enam Hadzide has urged all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to adopt sports programmes for their assemblies.

He also called on them to implement the Vice President’s initiative of monthly Health Walks in their various localities.

He said sports has many benefits and if the communities are engaged in it, it would help the nation to cut down medical bills and also have

active citizens to run the country.

The deputy minister made this call during the launch of the 2017 edition of the Accra Marathon

He stressed that the Ministry of Youth and Sports has endorsed the Accra Marathon and promised the organisers that his ministry would offer them their full support.
